Ready.gov (FEMA)

Launched in February 2003, Ready.gov is a National public service campaign designed to educate and empower the American people to prepare for, respond to and mitigate emergencies, including natural and man-made disasters. The goal of the campaign is to promote preparedness through public involvement.

Ready and its Spanish language version Listo.gov ask individuals to do four key things:

1. Stay informed about the different types of emergencies that could occur and their appropriate responses
2. Make a family emergency plan and
3. Build an emergency supply kit, and
4. Get involved in your community by taking action to prepare for emergencies.

Lanzado en febrero de 2003, Listo.gov es una campaña nacional de servicio público diseñada para educar y capacitar al pueblo estadounidense para prepararse, responder y mitigar emergencias, incluidos desastres naturales y provocados por el hombre. Ready y su versión en español Listo les pide a las personas que hagan cuatro cosas clave:

Homeland Security: Prepare your Business

Ready Business, an extension of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Ready campaign, helps owners and managers of small to medium-sized businesses prepare their employees, operations and assets in the event of an emergency. Launched September 2004, Ready Business is funded by Homeland Security’s Office of Infrastructure Protection. This Ready Business Mentoring Guide was made possible with support from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). American Red Cross: 20 Week Preparedness Plan

The 20 Week Preparedness Plan brochure is intended to provide you with an easy to use “20-Weeks to Preparedness” checklist to prepare for the next disaster. Your ability to be prepared could be the difference between surviving an earthquake, fire, flood or tsunami. At the end of the 20 weeks, you will have a comprehensive supply kit that will last for 4-5 days (based on using one gallon of water per day and recommended rationed meals). Your total investment will depend on how prepared you want to be and how many people you will be caring for during a disaster. The recommendation is to have all of these supplies stored together where they can be easily accessible.
