City Manager Isaac Whippy has outlined several key initiatives for the City of Fort Bragg, aiming to enhance various aspects of city governance and community engagement. The initiatives include:

-Housing, Housing, Housing! I am committed to addressing our community’s housing needs through strategic initiatives that promote affordable, sustainable, and inclusive housing development. By working closely with local stakeholders, developers, and government agencies, we aim to create solutions that will expand housing options for all residents while fostering economic growth and enhancing the quality of life in Fort Bragg. We will be exploring Public/Private Partnership options with Developers. 

- Strategic Planning 2025-2028: Develop a long-term strategic plan to guide the city’s growth and development over the next few years.

- Economic Development: Initiatives to stimulate local economic growth, attract new businesses, and support existing ones.

-Broadband: Creating a municipal broadband utility will offer citywide access to reliable and affordable broadband at GB speeds, supporting digital literacy community-wide. This ensures residents are equipped to fully participate in the economy, telehealth, and education, while also attracting new businesses and investment to Fort Bragg. Broadband is critical infrastructure for most businesses, especially considering the regional effort to position the Mendocino coast for Blue Economy investment. 

- Streamline Permitting Process: Implementation of new software to simplify and expedite the permitting and business license processes.

- Streamline Budgeting Process - Online Portal: Creating an online portal to make the budget process more accessible and efficient for residents and city officials.

- Master Tax Sharing Agreement with County: Establishing an agreement with the county to ensure fair and effective tax sharing.

- Budget & Finance: Ongoing efforts to manage the city’s budget and finances prudently.

- Communications & Marketing: Enhancing communication strategies to better inform and engage with the community.

- Fort Bragg Volunteer Opportunities: Encouraging community involvement through various volunteer programs.

- Events: Organizing and promoting events to foster community spirit and attract visitors.

- Fiscal Update: Regular updates on the city's financial health to ensure transparency and accountability.

These initiatives aim to strengthen Fort Bragg’s fiscal health, streamline operations, and boost community engagement and development.
