The Central Business District (CBD) is the zoning designation applied to the core of Fort Bragg's downtown. Development is pedestrian oriented and primarily accommodates retail shops, art galleries, eateries, and government or professional offices. City Council is investing resources to help support and revitalize downtown. Please sign-up on the City's "Notify Me" subscriber list for Downtown Business and join the conversation.
Are you or somebody you know interested in opening an eatery downtown? Now is the time! City Council has waived water/sewer capacity fees until 2025 for new eateries! City Council is implementing a number of economic development tools aimed to support the Central Business District. The purpose of focusing resources downtown is to encourage a vibrant commercial center with lively pedestrian activity that will have a ripple effect throughout the City, strengthening our economy and neighborhoods.
Active and engaged community members and businesses are key to our success. Please consider volunteering on one of the many subcommittees, such as Business Outreach Team, Community Event Planning, Downtown Walking Tours, Bee City USA or the Downtown Clean-up Team. Participate in various Council Committee meetings held at Town Hall and via Zoom, such as Visit Fort Bragg Committee (4th Thursday, 4pm) or the Community Development Committee (4th Tuesday, 3pm). And of course, please tune in to the regularly scheduled meeting of City Council meetings (2nd and 4th Monday at 6pm).
