Employment Process

The City of Fort Bragg only accepts applications for positions which are currently vacant. A separate City application form is required for each position. Some positions require a written examination and/or departmental interview.

Application Procedure:

All required materials must be received by the Human Resources Department by the final filing deadline indicated on the job announcement. Postmarked and emailed applications will not be accepted. Based upon an application review, qualified candidates will be invited to participate in a screening method which may include a written examination or an oral panel interview. Successful applicants will be placed on the Eligibility List for nine months from the date of testing. Upon available openings, eligible candidates will be required to pass a comprehensive medical examination, including drug test and fingerprints, prior to appointment.

Interest Cards:

The City of Fort Bragg accepts interest cards for any positions which are not currently open. These cards are held on file for a period of one year. You will be notified by the Human Resources Department if a recruitment is scheduled to fill the position(s) you indicate interest in. At this time, the interest cards are not available online.
