Zoning information. The City of Fort Bragg is unique in that it has two General Plans and two Land Use & Development (zoning) Codes. This is because some parts of Fort Bragg are in the Coastal Zone, which is generally located west of Hwy 1 (Main Street) and south of Walnut Street, and the more north/east part of town is outside the Coastal Zone. State law requires that properties in the Coastal Zone comply with the California Coastal Act. Zoning links are provided below, but be sure to contact the City’s Community Development Department at (707) 961-2827, or email CDD@fortbragg.com for more information before you sign a lease or purchase a piece of property.

City staff will help you identify and understand if a potential property can meet your business needs given its zoning and also help you understand permitting, parking, signage, and other requirements. Please contact the City’s Community Development Department at (707) 961-2827 for more information.
